Thomas Fahy – Deceased, December 14, 2019. We miss you, Tom!
Saturday, December 14, 2019, at 4:20 AM, Feast of St. John of the Cross, Mr. Thomas M. Fahy entered Heaven to his enormous reward, leaving his beloved wife, Katherine (Kathy), and daughter, Evelyn. Thomas (Tom) was the one chosen by God to bring the Doctrine of Luisa Piccarreta’s 36 Volumes of living in the Divine Will, returning to the Original State of Justice before the Great Fall of Adam, to America and to all the English-speaking world! Mr. Fahy learned of the doctrine of Luisa in 1973 and studied it for over 46 years. Many priests and theologians considered him to be an expert on Luisa’s doctrine.
The Divine Will was his life, his heart, and always on his mind. Nothing was more important to him than striving to live this doctrine and teaching what he understood to anyone who would listen. Everything else was dust to Mr. Fahy, and nothing was worth speaking about compared to learning more and striving to live the Gift of Living in the Divine Will. He taught thousands of people, hundred of priests and even bishops about the doctrine of Luisa Piccarreta.
Tom traveled all over the world teaching. In 1994, he founded the Luisa Piccarreta Center for the Divine Will, serving as President and publishing many of Luisa’s volumes and other writings. Tom’s wife, Kathy, led the administration of the Center, including fulfilling many orders for books and merchandise along with numerous other office duties. Kathy provided great support to Tom, which permitted him to travel and teach without concerns about the administration of the Center.
A funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1142 East Elm Street, LaFollette, Tennessee, on Friday, December 20, at 11:00 AM. A viewing and recitation of the Rosary will be held at the church, beginning at 9:30 AM. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, Kathy would prefer Masses to be offered for the Kingdom to Come and for the Poor Souls in Purgatory.
“Now more than ever you are fixed in the center of my Will, having my love alone as heart.”
– Biographical Profile
Thomas Fahy was born in 1939 in Washington, D.C. but grew up in his father’s home-town of Rome, GA. He had an excellent Catholic education from both his teachers and his family. He is a former Air Force officer and married Katherine Mehrtens of New Orleans in 1962 while in the military. Their daughter, Evelyn, arrived on earth in 1965. After military life, Mr. Fahy earned a MBA from the University of Maryland and was employed by Standard Oil Company in New York, where he very soon had a spiritual experience that redirected his life that, with great love for the Virgin Mary, became focused upon the Glory of God and the salvation and sanctification of souls in the context of the signs of the our times
With this focus, Mr. Fahy, for the past 52 years, has been engaged in constant, continual and avid study of Catholic dogma, which has included an elevated interest in the mystical life and writings of certain 20th Century holy persons, especially the most profound and attractive mysteries of the Reign of the Father’s Will in souls discovered in the writings of Luisa Piccarreta.
In 1972, Thomas and Katherine Fahy found themselves in the presence of some of Luisa’s writings while in Frascati, Italy, soon after visiting St. Padre Pio’s monastery in San Giovanni Rotondo. But it wasn’t until the following year in October of 1973, in St. Petersburg, Florida that Thomas and Katherine Fahy became aware of the significance of Luisa’s writings and began an intense study of what was made available to him of those writings.
The magnificence of the doctrine of Living in the Divine Will motivated Mr. Fahy to share it with others over the past 45 years. Looking back from today’s perspective, it seems that he was called to introduce the knowledge of Luisa Piccarreta, her life and writings to the English speaking world as a lay apostle of the Reign of the Divine Will. This has taken him to many European countries, to Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea, as well as numerous places in the USA, Canada and Mexico. This work on behalf of the Reign of the Divine Will provided the opportunity to introduce many Priests around the world to the knowledge of Luisa’s life and her spiritual doctrine. Several of these Priests have become effective promoters of this Kingdom of our Father in souls.
On January 1, 1985, Thomas Fahy, at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., consecrated his life to the Divine Will at all 12 altars dedicated to Mary.
Thomas and Katherine Fahy began to publish some of Luisa’s works in the mid-1980s as well as a newsletter, The Divine Will Herald. In the early to mid-1990’s, Mr. Fahy began publishing a new newsletter, Letters of Gold. He founded the Luisa Piccarreta Center for the Divine Will (1994) and began publishing the writings of Luisa Piccarreta and promoting national and international conferences on her spiritual doctrine. In 1998, Mr. Fahy founded the John Paul Institute of Christian Spirituality as an adjunct to the Center for the Divine Will and in 1999 began construction of the House of Sanctification in Cantabria, Spain. The mission of the House of Sanctification, which opened on June 1, 2000, is to promote the knowledge of the Reign of the Divine Will worldwide through the visitors who come to that location from all parts of the world and take this knowledge back to their own lands. The knowledge of the Divine Will has been presented to thousands of visitors to the well administered House of Sanctification, by Directress, Ann Ellison.
Mr. Fahy’s bonds with the Ecclesial Hierarchy are well known, and his obedience to Church authority is recognized and appreciated by them. Right after the opening of Luisa’s Cause of Beatification former Archbishop Carmelo Cassati of Trani and former president of the diocesan tribunal for that cause appointed Mr. Fahy as representative of her cause in various capacities, especially that of collector of funds for the cause.
In September of 1993, prior to the opening of Luisa’s cause, Mr. Fahy made an appointment with the Vatican’s Congregation of the Causes of the Saints, and was told that he was free to promote the fame and spiritual doctrine of Luisa Piccarreta.
When Archbishop Cassati issued a moratorium on new publishings of Luisa’s writings in January of 1998, the Center for the Divine Will was given permission to distribute its inventory of Luisa’s writings until exhausted. Mr. Fahy has made sure that this moratorium and the permission regarding the inventory has not been violated by the Center for the Divine Will. Archbishop Cassati’s successor, Archbishop Giovan Pichierri, following instructions from the Vatican, reemphasized the moratorium on new publishings of Luisa’s writings in formal letters of 2007 and 2008. Again, Mr. Fahy has assured obedience to these directives by the Center for the Divine Will.
Mr. Fahy has visited Corato, Italy, where Luisa lived, and the offices of the Archdiocese of Trani so many times over the years that he has lost count of these visits. Following the counsel of Archbishop Pichierri of Trani to the promoters of Luisa’s life and doctrine, Mr. Fahy has requested and received letters of permission from his current and previous bishop to teach the spirituality of Luisa in their diocese, and he has received permission from 40 other Dioceses around the world to present retreats and conferences on the life and spiritual doctrine of Luisa Piccarreta.
In 2005, following what seems to have been a clear and special guidance from Heaven, Mr. Fahy relocated the Center for the Divine Will from Jacksonville, Florida, to Jacksboro, Tennessee, which is located about 34 miles northwest of Knoxville.
In 2006, Mr. Fahy and two members of his staff were invited to Germany by a close friend of Pope Benedict XVI to give talks based on Luisa Piccarreta’s writings at a colloquium on the Virgin Mary. Mr. Fahy was invited to be a speaker on specific themes of the Divine Will at the annual retreats of Association Luisa Piccarreta of Corato, Italy.
In 2013, Mr. Fahy was invited to be the primary speaker at the First National Divine Will Conference in Mexico, sponsored by the Archdiocese of Guadalajara.
Over the past 43 years of studying and promoting the spiritual doctrine of the Reign of the Divine Will in souls, Mr. Fahy has accumulated an abundance of research and knowledge on various spiritual themes contained in Luisa’s writings, which, with the most necessary help of Divine Grace, enables him to make thorough, accurate and fruitful presentations at retreats conferences, and other speaking engagements.
Finally, Mr. Fahy, understanding the immense desire of God for the Reign of the Divine Will in souls, urges everyone to plead for the Gift of the Divine Will, which enables one to live the life of Heaven on earth and open the way for the dawn of a new era for mankind, which will be an era of true holiness, happiness and innocence as it was in the beginning in the paradise of our first parents, Adam and Eve.
Thomas Fahy passed into Eternal Glory on December 14, 2019. After working tirelessly spreading the knowledge of the Divine Will on earth, may Thomas finally rest in the Peace and Will of the Most Holy Trinity.
